Paolo Nutini Signed My Painting!

I began getting into art by painting images of my favorite musicians and album covers during my last year at high school. One of my regular inspirations has always been Paolo Nutini, a singer/songwriter from Paisley whose work has deeply resonated with me. In February 2024, I decided to challenge myself by creating my own interpretation of his album, *Last Night in the Bittersweet*. Little did I know, this painting would set me on a path to meet one of my musical inspirations.

I really wanted to share my work with Paolo, I started reaching out to anyone who might connect me to him. After several attempts, I finally managed to get in touch with his manager, who arranged a meeting on the last date of Paolo’s tour.

My mum and I headed to the concert, painting in hand. After the amazing show, we were escorted backstage, where I had the incredible opportunity to meet Paolo in person. I handed him the painting, and to my amazement, he not only signed it but also took the time to talk with me about music, art, and the creative industry.

Paolo was such a down-to-earth person. We chatted for a good while, and he offered me invaluable advice on pursuing a career in the arts. He understood the challenges of making a name for oneself in such a competitive field and encouraged me to keep going, to pursue my passion, and to create something meaningful.

Growing up, his music was a constant presence in my life, always playing in the car and becoming part of the soundtrack of my youth. To hear such kinds words about my work was beyond anything I could have hoped for.

I’m very grateful to Paolo and his amazing team for helping me put this together and I can’t wait to see where this journey will take me next.
